Portable hand measuring system for the water in oil diagnostic
Monitoring and diagnostics of hydraulic and lubrication fluids
- Small and comfortable hand measuring instrument for quick and reliable detection of dissolved water in oil
- Handy, battery-powered diagnostics and monitoring system
- variously applicable
| This sensor only measures the relative humidity of a fluid, unlike the water content determination using the Karl – Fischer – method (total- free and dissolved water in the fluid). As a result of a measurement the saturation level of the fluid in percent is displayed. |
| The indication of 100% means the total saturation of the fluid and therefore the presence of dangerous free water in the fluid. |
| A connection to the ppm (mg/kg) water content (determined by the Karl – Fischer- method) can be made for values between 0% and 99%. For this purpose it is necessary to know the characteristic curve of the saturation level and the temeratur of the fluid. |
Measuring principle:
| The WHS 01 consists of a handy display equipment and the WSPS 01 (capacitive sensor). The sensor uses polymeric foil as dielectric for interelectrode capacitance. This foil is capable of absorbing water molecules due to its microporous structure. This absorption causes a change in capacity of this element. |
Application type:
| Water contamination in hydraulic or lubrication fluids leads to the loss and failure of additives, deterioration of the capability to filter the fluid and an increase of the acidic value. All this accelerates the aging process of the fluid. |
| The WSH 01 enables you to perform peridodic and continuous measurements on your system or using bottle samples. As a result, counteractive and therefore cost saving measures can be taken early. |
Compatibility:
| Petroleum based and synthetic fluids, such as hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, ester-based synthetic oils. |
Caution:
| Sensor should not be used to determine the water contens of water based fluids. |
| Destruction of the sensor caused by ammonia, bases or the like. |
